FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. How do I get into Online Banking?
Sign in on our home page. If you are a first time user you will click the “First Time User” link at the top of the page, click the “First Time User” link at the top of the page again, enter your e-mail address, checking account number and type and your First State Update password. If you do not have a First State Update password, use the last four digits of your social security number. Once you log into the system you will be asked to create an Access ID and password.

2. What do I do if I forget my Access ID and password?
Contact customer service by sending an e-mail to customerservice@bankatfsb.com or call 979.265.2511. Be prepared to give your account number and social security to the customer service representative for identification purposes. The customer service representative will either give you your password or reset your password to your First State Update password.

3. When I try to access Online Banking all I see is gibberish.
You may need to upgrade your browser and/or encryption. If you need to update your browser version or encryption (cipher strength) level, please use the buttons below to update for free.

4. I cannot view or print my statement.
You may not have Adobe Reader 4.0 or higher, a requirement for Online statements. Adobe Reader is available free.

5. My login to Online Banking is denied.
Contact customer service by sending an e-mail to customerservice@bankatfsb.com or by call 979.265.2511. Be prepared to give your account number and social security to the customer service representative for identification purposes. The customer service representative will either give you your password or reset your password to your First State Update password.

6. What happens if I don’t log out of Online Banking?
Online Banking has a 10-minute time out feature, so if the system is not used for 10 minutes, you will be automatically disconnected and will need to log back in to continue using the system.

7. How late in the evening can I make transfers using Online Banking?
Although funds can be transferred any time day or night, First State Bank’s Funds Availability Policy applies. Any transactions conducted after 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, will be available on the next business day.

8. What are I-Statements?
I-Statements, an add-on feature to your existing Online Banking account, allow you to view or print check images (front or back) in a matter of seconds. The online statement looks exactly like your monthly statement, with no waiting for the mail carrier.

Instructions for Online Banking with First State Bank Log In
On our home page, www.bankatfsb.com, you will see an “Online Banking” log in area on the right. Complete the areas asking for your Access ID and Password, then click the button that says “Log In” You will then enter the secure online banking portion of the First State Bank Web site.

If this is your first time to log in, click on “First Time User.” On your initial log in, enter your e-mail address, primary account number as your Access ID and your First State Update password. Click the Submit button to validate security and open the secure area of the Web site.

A second display window will appear that requests a new Access ID and password. Select a new Access ID that is easy to remember, but not easy to guess. Do not use the same the name and number combination for both the Access ID and password. Try to avoid the most common passwords – names, birthdays and anniversaries.

If you have created your Access ID and password but do not remember your First State Update password, please call customer service at 979.265.2511 or send an email to customerservice@bankatfsb.com.

I-Statement Delivery
Using the “Documents” button, you can view your First State Bank account statements. On the documents page, click on “Statements” under document types. Then, click on the Dated Account Statement you want to view.

This will open your statement for this account in Adobe Reader. (To view your account statement, you will need to have Adobe Reader 4.0 installed on your computer.) Adobe Reader is available free.

I-Statement Disclosures
By completing the registration form below, you elect to receive your monthly or quarterly statement electronically via First State Bank’s Online Banking System instead of the U.S. Postal Service. I-Statements are processed and published on the Internet Banking System on your regular statement processing day and require you to use your assigned ID and password to gain access to the secure Online Banking System before you can view, print or archive your account information.

The bank will send an e-mail to the e-mail address on file the day after your statement is processed as notification of your periodic statement delivery. Statement preparation days vary by month, depending on non-business days, such as Saturday and Sunday and bank holidays. To learn which processing day you are assigned, contact the Bookkeeping Manager at 979.265.2511.
